I’m Adrienne Schleigh, SHRM-SCP, and I have spent nearly twenty years in HR. Not just practicing it, but believing in it. Believing that when organizations truly value their people, everything changes. Culture improves. Performance follows. People stay. And the work actually means something.
Believing that every person, regardless of who they are or where they come from, deserves to work in a place where they are respected, included, and given a real chance to do their best work.
I’ve seen firsthand what happens when leadership lives its values, and what happens when that alignment starts to slip. Culture follows leadership. Trust follows alignment. When values become slogans on a wall instead of behavior in the room, people notice. And they leave. It taught me something I carry into every engagement: HR without integrity isn’t HR. It’s just paperwork.
Some names carry meaning before you even understand why you chose them.
Neoma is one of those names.
It belonged to my grandmother. A woman who shaped how I see people, how I lead, and what I believe work should feel like. It belongs to my daughter. A reminder every single day of why integrity, empathy, and doing right by people isn’t optional. It’s everything.
Neoma also means new moon in Greek. Not an absence of light, but the beginning of a new cycle. A moment of quiet before something builds. A fresh start that carries the wisdom of everything that came before it. That’s what I hope to bring to every organization I work with.
